  The Society of Painters and Engravers in Paris is holding an exhibition of the works of 40 members from 27 November to 19 December 2023. An exhibition of Gilles Aillaud’s artworks is presented at the  Librairie Galerie Métamorphoses in the 6 th  arrondissement in Paris.    Gilles Aillaud (1928-2005) was an internationally known French artist, set decorator, and scenographer.  The exhibition is the artwork from the artist’s book “According to Nature –  Encyclopedia of all animals including minerals” – “ D'après nature   –  Encyclopedie de tous les animaux y compris les mineraux”  first published in four volumes from 1988 to 2000, with 194 lithographs of the animal world – all painted by Gilles Aillaud. The current edition was reprinted in 2010 by editor Andre Dimanche.    The animals include wolf, giraffe, owl, egret, bull, crocodile, bear, lion, donkey, and crow for example.   French artist Chantal Amoureux is presenting her exhibition “Infinitely Blue” – “ Infiniment bleu ” – at the Town Hall in the 6 th  arrondissement of Paris from 24 November to 9 December 2023.   Her “Infinitely Blue” artworks evoke sails, flowers, and landscapes.   The Pear Field  by Nana Ekvtimishvili (2020 in English; first published in 2015) is set in the 1990s in the outskirts of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, in the Residential School for Intellectually Disabled Children on Kerch Street.   The dilapidated school is ‘officially responsible for the care and education of school-age children with no family.’ After nine years of schooling, the children must leave and fend for themselves.    Lela is 18 years old and living in the school. She ‘doesn’t know where she was born or to whom, who it was who gave her up or first brought her to Kerch Street.’ She finished school three years ago but doesn’t want to leave and the teachers are not pressuring her to.    Her favourite place in the school is the fire escape’s spiral staircase because there’s a ‘strange, sweet smell.’ The aroma comes from the pear field next door.    She has an uncontrollable urge to kill the elderly history teacher Vano.
