The
Australian Federal Police Museum in Canberra has partnered with the Canberra Museum+Gallery to commemorate Australian police peacekeeping in
Cyprus. The exhibition at the Canberra Museum+Gallery commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first overseas
mission by the Australian Federal Police to Cyprus with the United Nations. 'Down
to the wire' is on exhibition from 1 November, 2014 to February 8, 2015.
The
exhibition displays and reflects items demonstrating the daily life of police
in Cyprus during the split of the island to form the Greek Cypriot south and
the Turkish Cypriot north. It covers
operational duties, as well as the social life of police.
