To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the publication of ‘Finnegans Wake’ the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and the James Joyce Association of Georgia are holding an international James Joyce conference from 26-27 September 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The theme is: Joyce and the World.
Mr. Jeffrey Kent, Honorary Consular of Ireland in Tbilisi and Professor Manana Gelashvili, Director of the Institute of West European Languages and Literature at TSU opened the conference.
The conference will explore the diversity of cultures and languages which went into making the world of James Joyce, and his writing’s impact on world literature.
With Tamar Zhghenti, I presented the paper, ‘Joyce and his Paris World: the 14 residences of James Joyce in Paris’ on Thursday 26 September.
