Gogi Chagelishvili (1944-) is a Georgian oil painter and graphic artist specializing in installation art.
He studied in the Department of Decorative Applied Art and later in the Department of Oil Painting at the Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts. In 1973-1974 he moved near Moscow to work for the Senezh Creative House.
His works build on a unity of a direct, naive vision of the object of the painting, focusing on the ‘busyness of people’ as they appear in crowds and in isolation.
