Levan Tsutskiridze is a Georgian oil painter, graphic artist, book illustrator, monumentalist artist, and teacher.
Levan Tsutskiridze (1926-) studied oil painting at the Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts, taking 11 years to finish his studies as people criticized his style of formalism. In 1960 he taught at the academy and the Polytechnic Institute.
He illustrated the work of 16th century poet Shota Rustaveli’s The Knight in the Panther Skin in the 1970s. His style is European classicism with Georgian mural painting.
He was the meritorious artist of Georgia in 1967 and won the laureate of the State award of Georgia in 2001.
