The Saint Lambert Church, Vaugirard, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris dates back to the Middle Ages. It was built in 1342 as a chapel. At the start of the French Revolution (1789-1799) it was closed, and re-opened in 1795. When the population increased in the area, a new building was erected from 1848-1856 in neo-Romanesque style by architect Claude Naissant near the original site.
The organ of the Saint Lambert Church, Vaugirard, was built in 1901 by the Nantes postman Louis Debierre. Of heritage interest, the organ was repaired in the 1950s and continues to be regularly maintained through the support of the association of friends of the organ of Saint Lambert (AOSL).
