From 4 May to 9 September 2024 at the Louis Vuitton Fondation on the perimeter of Paris is the Kelly Ellsworth exhibition, Shapes and Colors, 1949-2015.
It is a landmark exhibition because it is dedicated to The Red Studio 1911 painting by Henri Matisse whose works are being exhibited at the same time.
American artist Kelly Ellsworth (1923-2015) was a painter, sculptor, and printmaker. He is known for his minimalism works of panel paintings, emphasizing line and form, in black and white, but mostly in big, bright colours. He was heavily influenced by Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), Henri Matisse (1869-1954), Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), and Hans Arp (1886-1966).
