Mullaitivu Beach in Northern Province lies on the northeastern coast of Sri Lanka. The district was established in 1979 and currently has a population of 87% Tamils, 9% Muslims, and 4% Sinhalese. The landscape includes forests and a large area of inland water.
The fishing and agricultural village
was greatly affected by the 2004 tsunami and continues to recover from the disaster.
