The Canberra Museum + Gallery is exhibiting Ed Radclyffe’s collection of Roller Derby images. The collection entitled Fuelling: Ed Radclyffe is a co-creative project between the artist and the Canberra Roller Derby League.
The
exhibit will display a selection of Radclyffe’s drawings, posters, and props
collected over 20 years from 22 February to 25 May 2014. The exhibition opens at
2:00pm on Saturday with a special guest appearance by The Fuelers.
Radclyffe
is a visual artist and musician who is a member of the country-rockabilly trio
The Fuelers. His art is a passion – especially for the Canberra Roller Derby
League. The works show posters, signs, symbols, graphic art, and images on
leather jackets. It is fun, bright, colourful, unique, and distinct – but look
more closely in the background for images of Canberra.
The
Canberra Roller Derby League (CRDL), established in 2008, is Canberra’s registered
premier all-female, flat track roller derby (roller skating) league.
