An exhibition of Timothy Brooke’s art, called Flocks, Herds, Migration, is
held at the second floor atrium of Sankara Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, until
August 2017.
One Off Contemporary Art Gallery of Nairobi has partnered with Sankara
Hotel to exhibit Timothy Brooke’s most recent paintings. The exhibition
comprises images of African wildlife in oil.
Timothy Brooke (1942) was born in England and migrated to Kenya at the age
of 5 with his family in 1947. He returned to London, England in the 1960s to
study a Fine Arts degree, graduating in 1965. Returning to Kenya in 1980 he
continues to live in the country.
Brooke has exhibited his works in internationally. In Africa, Brooke is
best known for the series of 26 paintings created for the Norfolk Hotel in
Nairobi.
The Flocks, Herds, Migration exhibition records the large gatherings and
migration scenes of Kenya. Some images are captured from an aerial view.
