Questacon is the nation’s National Science and Technology Centre in
Canberra. It’s an interactive museum, gallery, center, and information booth
for a range of scientific information and science fun.
The Questacon building has 8 galleries (halls) on three levels with a different science theme in each gallery. These include: Perception Deception (optical illusions),
Wonderworks (art and science), Awesome Earth (the planet and weather), Q Lab
(experiments), Multi-Purpose Space (new or special science exhibits), Mini Q (science for
little scientists), Excite@Q (interactive energy), and H2O (properties of
water).
In Excite@Q participants can test their reflexes, free-fall six metres,
or challenge a robot to a game of air hockey - and it's all science. There are also science videos, a
range of sculptures, a café, and a science shop.
