The town hall of the 6th arrondissement in Paris is hosting an exhibition called ‘Les aerofils de nic’ – 'Nic’s aero-wires' – from 7-31 December 2021.
Nic Mazodier is a sculptor and creator. His initial idea was to use metal wire, like a thread, as a line, to draw three-dimensional sketches.
His favorite subjects are dance, musicians, trees, and especially animals – particularly birds and horses.
He uses large rolls of aluminum wire, of varying diameters, but sometimes also brass, steel, copper, and even gold wire. He uses pliers to cut the wire, and his hands to twist the thread into the shapes.
