French artist Violaine Fayolle is an illustrator, printmaker, and engraver, working with water colours, pencil, ink, wood, and linoleum. She describes herself as a polyvalent digital artist with an interest in game art, animation, and augmented reality experiences.
Born in 1981, from Morbihan in the Brittany region of north-west France, she joined DisneyResearch Studios in March 2022, after working for four years as a digital artist at the Game Technology Centre of ETH Zurich. She has a masters degree in Interactive Technology at the Arts Et Metiers Laval.
Violaine Fayolle, an artist since 2003, worked with wood engraving in 2009, creating in 2014 her series of 'funny hybrid birds' with wings, but flightless.
She also creates 'art in a box' - a box full of artistic expression created from cardboard and paper. Known as the diorama, each box is a model representing a three-dimensional (3D) scene, typically miniatures of real life.
Currently, Violaine Fayolle is exhibiting her boxed diorama artworks at the JGC-Contemporary Engraving exhibition in the town hall of the 6th arrondissement of Paris from February 8 to March 1, 2023, with about 40 other artists.
