From monument to monumental delight

In December, for the festive season, the Liberty Monument in Tbilisi, Georgia, becomes a well-lit Christmas tree. The monument – called the Liberty Monument or Freedom Monument – features a golden St. George slaying the dragon. Created by Zurab Tsereteli, the monument was erected in Freedom Square in November 2006, replacing a statue of Vladmir Lenin.

Decorated with tiny lights on wires the monument slowly transforms into a monumental delight – a festive tree.
