Each year outside the Old Parliament House in Tbilisi, Georgia, a Christmas
tree is erected. The following photographs show the progression of its
construction.
Old Parliament House, designed by Victor Kokorin and Giorgi
Lezhava, commenced construction in 1938 and was completed in 1953.
The Georgian Parliament has been relocated from Tbilisi to Kutaisi – the second largest city in Georgia – 188 kilometres (117 miles) from the capital in a new building. The new
building (below), designed by CMD Ingenieros, was inaugurated in May
2012. It is a 40-metre-high dome and is 200 metres long with over 200 offices
and 11 conference rooms.
