In
the National Museum of Kenya, in Nairobi, is the permanent exhibition of Amina
Abdala’s Kinetic Light Art installation called Metachromatic, in collaboration
with Mila Fore International Limited.
Amina
Abdala used LED lights and coloured beads in homage to the Masai Kenya craft
from Kenya. She deconstructed the basket weaving technique into an abstract,
optical representation. The weaving unfolds gradually, giving an optical
effect. Metachromatic is an interactive art piece, even without electricity.
Amina
Abdala is a Kenyan/French multi-disciplinary artist, interior architect and
designer, who graduated from the Ecole Boulle in Paris.
MARTINA NICOLLS is an international aid and development consultant, and the author of:- Similar But Different in the Animal Kingdom

Sudan Curse (2009).
