Three photographers are exhibiting their works at the Tbilisi History Museum in Tbilisi from 12-18 May 2016
as part of the Kolga Tbilisi Photo contest under the theme Stories from India
& Afghanistan. The Kolga Tbilisi Photo exhibition is a week-long event for
local and international photographers. It is the largest and most prestigious
photo contest in Georgia.
The three photographers are Simon Norfolk, Dougie Wallace, and Kai
Loffelbein.
Simon Norfolk is a prominent award-winning photographer. His exhibition for
the Kolga Tbilisi Photo is called Afghanistan Chronotopia (2002).
Dougie Wallace, from Scotland and based in London, has included photography
from Mumbai, India, in the collection called Road Wallah. He photographed
people inside the iconic black and yellow taxis over four years.
German-based photographer, Kai Loffelbein, is also exhibiting works from
India, called CTRL-X. A Topography of E-Waste Chapter III: India. These
photographs show electronic devices in the scrap heap. He has followed the
electronic-waste trails from Europe and the United States to Ghana, China, and –
in this exhibition – New Delhi.
