Kolga Tbilisi Photo 12-18 May 2016: Sergo Edisherashvili - First Personal in Georgia



Sergo Edisherashvili is exhibiting his works at the Tbilisi History Museum in Tbilisi from 12-18 May 2016 as part of the Kolga Tbilisi Photo contest. The Kolga Tbilisi Photo exhibition is a week-long event for local and international photographers. It is the largest and most prestigious photo contest in Georgia.

Edisherashvili’s photography exhibition, First Personal in Georgia, is a documentary perspective of current affairs in Georgia. In 1989 he was editor-in-chief of the photo chronicles of Sakinform News Agency, which at the time was the only prestigious and qualified union of photographers. Edisherashvili frequently worked in Chechnya, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Abkhazia. The exhibition for the Kolga Tbilisi Photo is his first exhibition in Georgia.

Born in 1951 he graduated from the journalism department of the Moscow State University. After graduation he became a news correspondent from Moscow in Georgia. At 34 he was named in the top 100 World Leading Photojournalists.
