Paris will hold the Olympic Games in 2024. The Olympic Games returns to Paris a century after it was held in 1924.
The Town Hall in the 6th Arrondissement of Paris is holding an exhibition called “History, Sport & Citizenship: From the Olympic Games in Athens 1896 to the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris 2024” (Histoire, Sport & Citoyenneté: Des Jeux Olympiques D’Athenes 1896 aux Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de Paris 2024).
The exhibition will be held from 7-17 February 2022.
Initiated by CASDEN, a cooperative bank and a partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the exhibition supports the promotion of sport at school and the values of “Olympism.” It covers 125 years of Olympic history from Athens in Greece in 1896 to Paris, France, in 2024.
It celebrates the Olympic Games as the first world event. The exhibition of 30 information panels shows a multifaceted history with extraordinary stories of sportsmen and sportswomen.
The exhibition is accompanied by educational materials and activities for educational institutions at all levels, including adult education. It is designed in conjunction with the school system’s history and EMC (moral and civic education) programs.
