Le Select Restaurant in Montparnasse, Paris, is exhibiting a solo collection of Audrey Cusey’s artworks in its gallery-restaurant from 6 February to 6 March 2022.
Born in Paris in 1987, Audrey Cusey was an assistant to interior designer Jean Louis Denoit and painter Daniel Riberzani. Later, she worked with scenographer Natacha Markoff. When Cusey undertook advanced studies in the Fine Arts with Filip Mirazovic, she practiced by copying artworks at The Louvre Art Gallery in Paris as a way to learn about the masterpieces.
In this exhibition at Le Select Restaurant’s Gallery in February 2022, she mainly presents the works of her Stripes series. Stripes is a graphic series of portraits of women that inspire her – images of feminity. Each drawing is hand-made, which she says is ‘a constraint to which is added the choice of the synthesis of the image through the lines.’
