Red eggs and lamb

Red is a prominent colour at Easter time, particularly for the painting or dyeing of eggs. Eggs are held by two people who tap them against each other, cracking each end. As part of the celebratory feast there are meats, vegetables, fruits, and the Pasha, or Paschal, Pie – a sweet cake.
