The Triumph of Silenus is a human pyramid. The
pyramid-shaped sculpture, exhibited in 1885 in the Jardin du Luxembourg in
Paris, of several humans intertwined, represents Silenus, the foster father of
Dionysus, God of the vine and wine).
French sculptor Aime-Jules Dalou (1838-1902), born in
Paris, was regarded as “technically one of the most distinguished modellers of his
time.”
Dalou’s grave is in the Montparnasse Cemetery in
Paris.
