A Solo Exhibition by Leila Shelia is being at the Georgian National Museum
Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 6-31 December
2016.
The exhibition displays about 80 paintings and graphic works by Leila
Shelia, undated, but created throughout her life. Shelia was born in Sokhumi,
Georgia, in 1953, and graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Art. She has
exhibited throughout the region and in Europe.
From 1982 she has exhibited in
group and solo exhibitionsin the region and in Barcelona, Paris, Moscow,
Brussels, Baku, Zürich, London and Amsterdam.
MARTINA NICOLLS is an international
aid and development consultant, and the author of:- The Shortness of
Life: A Mongolian Lament (2015), Liberia’s Deadest Ends (2012), Bardot’s Comet
(2011), Kashmir on a Knife-Edge (2010) and The Sudan Curse (2009).
