The Botanical Garden of Paris (Jardin des Plantes) is holding its 9th annual “A Thousand and One Orchids” (“Mille & Une Orchidées”) exhibition from 23 February to 21 March 2022.
In the large, recently renovated tropical greenhouse (the hothouse), there are over a thousand blossoming wild orchids, with orchids to purchase in the pop-up shop. The Botanical Garden’s museum actually has 92,000 specimens of orchids in its collections around the world, in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania, and Europe, with 160 species in France (kept in the Arboretum de Chevreloup near Versailles).
Four French orchid producers assisted with the displays: Ryanne Orchidée, Vacherot & Lecoufle, Orchidium, and Cour des Orchidées.
In the pop-up tent boutique shop, where orchids are available to buy, experts from the French Society for Orchids (SFO) and the French Association, Cultivation and Protection of Orchids (AFCPO), provide assistance.
