Paris artist Laurence Simon is exhibiting her artworks at the Luxembourg Gallery in the Town Hall in the 6th arrondissement of Paris from 25 February to 14 March 2022. The exhibition is called “En Passant” – “In Passing.”
Laurence Simon is inspired by walking the streets and seeing objects in passing – an old door, a bag on the sidewalk, tarpaulin covering something, and fallen drapes. She says “beauty is revealed here in areas where attention is generally not focussed.”
She is regarded as an “contemplative painter” as she reflects on items found in everyday life that would normally be neglected.
