There are a lot of
steps in the National Botanical Garden of Georgia in Tbilisi. To get around the
undulating 94 hectare garden, a road takes cars into the centre, but most
people walk or ramble around – and mostly up and down steps,
although there are paths that wind through the grounds.
The steps come in an
assortment of types. There are cement slabs, logs, cobble stones, brick, metal,
wood, and packed earth steps. Some are a few steps and some go on and on, and
up and up. Some have railings and others don’t. Some are old and others are
currently being constructed. But the steps in Tbilisi’s National Botanical
Garden are all interesting.
