A survey on what
Britons pack for their holiday found that tea bags are added to the suitcase.
In Britain, Nationwide FlexPlus
conducted a survey of holiday packing. The result was that the average Briton
packed 6 pairs of socks, 7 T-shirts, 4 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of sandals, 2
towels, and 8 pairs of underpants. They also pack 2 swimsuits, 2 bottles of sun
cream, 2 pairs of running shoes, 1 jumper (sweater), 1 pair of sunglasses, 1
bottle of insect repellant, and a hat.
About 9% of those
surveyed take tea bags. They spend, on average 10% of their annual salary on
their holidays – mainly for city locations or to a beach resort. More than a third
(35%) said they preferred an all-inclusive package holiday deal, while 19%
prefer an adventure holiday, 16% prefer a cruise, and 13% go caravanning or
camping. In addition to their main holiday they also take up to four short trips (less than 3 days) each year.
Women think about packing about six days in advance, while men, on average, start packing four days in advance. People from Liverpool and Newcastle started
thinking about packing six days in advance, but people from Brighton started packing one to three days before their vacation.
