A man from Meru, in Kenya, was arrested and freed on bail for allegedly stealing
15 passionfruit from a shop in Magundu Village. The 15 passionfruit were worth
KES 60 (60 cents). He was fined KES 100 ($1.00).
The man denies the charge, and said he was given the passionfruit. He said,
‘The owner told me to collect the passionfruits that had fallen down from the
tree.’ His bail is pending a hearing of the case next week at the Meru Court.
