Paintings
and Prints by John Silver are on exhibition at the National Museum in Nairobi,
Kenya, from 6-31 October 2017.
John
Mbugua Kimani, known as John Silver, is a founding member of the Banana Hill
Art Studio in Kenya. He has exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum in
London. He also trains artists, and has his own initiative called Rhino Care
Arts Project in which he mentors disadvantaged children. His work has been
published in publications such as Islands of Creativity and The Kenya Arts
Diary.
Silver’s
paintings and wood cut prints are dream-like and fantastical, full of colour
and texture.

NICOLLS is an international aid and development consultant, and
the author of:- Similar But Different in the Animal Kingdom
(2017), The Shortness of Life: A Mongolian Lament (2015), Liberia’s Deadest
Ends (2012), Bardot’s Comet (2011), Kashmir on a Knife-Edge (2010) and The
Sudan Curse (2009).
