JUNE 2022
JAMES JOYCE'S 1922 NOVEL ULYSSES The feature this month is the centenary - 100 years - of the James Joyce novel 'Ulysses' which Sylvia Beach published in Paris in 1922. The novel is a day in the life of characters Leopold and Molly Bloom - 16 June 1904. This date is actually James Joyce's first date with Nora Barnacle in Dublin - and they eventually married and had two children - Giorgio (1905-1976) and Lucia (1907-1982). Giorgio had a son Stephen James who lived in Paris - he was born in 1932, and died on 23 January 2020. He had no children.
