A massive sculpture of 93-year-old Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is in Paris at rue du Pont Neuf, with paintbrush in hand, painting her signature dots on La Samaritaine building for her collaboration with French leather goods brand Louis Vuitton.
In January 2023, her clone was installed on the facade of the Louis Vuitton boutique on Avenue des Champs-Elysees along with her yellow, red, blue, and green dots, at the Place Vendome, and next to La Samaritaine beside the river Seine.
Avant-garde Yayoi Kusama, born in 1929, is known for her monumental immersive installations, her distinctive red hair, and her polka dots. Louis Vuitton honours Yayoi Kusama with a collection of bags and accessories in yellow, red, blue, and green polka dots this season. This is their second collaboration together. This current collection, called Infinity Dots, has over 400 pieces of colthing, accessories, perfumes, and Louis Vuitton’s iconic travel suitcases.
