The Pantheon of Writers in Georgia is a church and necropolis half way up
the Mtatsminda Mount. The Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures – its full
title – is where famous Georgian writers and artists are buried, next to the
St. David’s Church (Mamadaviti) in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Often called the Mtatsminda Pantheon, Mtatsminda means ‘holy mountain’ and
the Pantheon means ‘a group of famous or important people.’ It was established
in 1929.
