Georgia’s white lion cubs are nearly four months old.
Born at the Tbilisi Zoo in Georgia on 2 August 2016, the three cubs will be four months on Friday 2
December. Their mother Cleopatra continues to look after them, but they are now
out of their baby nursery and in their parents enclosure where the public can
view them.
Today they were playing together, chewing on rope and
scratching the trees in the enclosure.
White lions are not albinos, but a rare colour mutation
or morph of the African lion (Panthera
leo krugeri) of the Timbavati area of South Africa. The colour varies from
blond to near-white.
