The Georgian National Museum in
Tbilisi, Georgia, is presenting Elements – Sculpture and Graphics by Andrey
Ostashov from 4-18 March 2018.
Andrey Ostashov is a professional
sculptor who lives in Minsk, Belarus. His works are made in stone and bronze,
as well as sketches and drawings. The exhibition showcases about 50 stone and
bronze sculptures and about 25 graphic works.
Ostashov is primarily interested in modern
myths and legends. He also explores the universality of Europe and Asia, East
and West, to form Eurasia. He is particularly interested in the people that
live at the junction of cultures. His works take the real and the invented from
eastern and western cultures, including those of Ancient Greece and the Ancient
Orient, today’s city culture, and ‘the inner life of each of us.’
Andrey Ostashov has
won many art and architectural competitions, and has his own gallery in Minsk.
