Miriam Sitchinava: first solo photography exhibition

Georgian photographer, Mariam Sitchinava, is holding her first solo exhibition. The brief exhibition, entitled ‘me in you’ will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2015 at Europe House in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Mariam Sitchinava (1989-) has exhibited in England, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, and Israel with other artists.

Her 13 photographs on display, of young women, are colour yet often show them in shadows or semi-shadows under dappled light. They look quite ephemeral. Sitchinava shoots her subjects in ‘melancholic’ surroundings, such as overgrown nature and building ruins.

The title ‘me in you’ is from Sitchinava’s new book, her second photography book, that combines her new works with previous works.
