The Forty Martyrs of
Sebastia Monastery in Tbilisi, Georgia, is under renovation, revealing the
foundations of the previous monastery. It is located on Abano Street opposite
the sulphur baths. The 13th century Armenian monastery was completely ruined
and subsequently rebuilt in the 18th century. However, parts of the church were
destroyed in 1991.
Repairs are underway
to restore the entire complex.
