Photographs of Paris
show a red sky on Saturday evening. Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight; red
sky at morning, shepherd’s warning. That’s the folk lore, but red sky at night
probably signifies a dry day with no rain the next day.
The French say rouge le soir, bel espoir; rouge le matin,
de la pluie en chemin – which translates as red at night, great hope; red
in the morning, rain on the way.
From my hotel room I
can see the top tier of the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful red sky at night.
