Shop after shop on the
ancient David Aghmashenebeli Avenue in Tbilisi, Georgia, are salons for wedding
dresses. While much of the long street has been renovated – started in 2010,
the area with the wedding stores has not. The old buildings remain and make an
interesting contrast with the modern trends in wedding dresses.
David Aghmashenebeli
Avenue, on the left bank of the Kura River, is named after David IV of Georgia
and lies in the Old Tbilisi district. The summer months of July and August are traditionally the busiest times for weddings in Georgia.
